Cleveland’s Unemployment Rate Below National Average
June 10, 2011 – More good news confirming the strength of the Cleveland metropolitan area’s economy came out this month. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics the unemployment rate in April for the Greater Cleveland area was 7.6%. While this is still too high, it compares well to the national unemployment rate of 8.7%. Many cities are doing far worse such as Detroit at 11.1% and Las Vegas at 12.1%.
Recent reports of relatively high job postings indicate the Greater Cleveland unemployment rate is likely headed lower.
